Local pricing for the Ora Good Cat has been revealed with the model starting at $49,990 plus on-road costs, placing it among the cheapest new EVs on offer in New Zealand.
The model will also receive a rebate of up to $8624 thanks to the Clean Car Standard, effectively lowering the price further.
If you haven’t heard of the Chinese marque before, Ora is a sub-brand of Great Wall Motors which is said to “bring premium EV technology to everyone.”
While the name may take some getting used to, the model puts up some stiff competition for its rivals including the MG ZS and BYD Atto 3 which each hover around the same price point.
Two variants are available to choose from including the standard Good Cat which features a 48kWh battery capable of 330km range on a single charge and the larger 64kWh battery GT which is said to do 420km.
Indicated pricing is for the standard model which features the smaller battery and a single 126kW and 265Nm electric motor.
Dealerships across the country are starting to accept pre-orders for the Ora Good Cat while others have yet to launch the model just yet.
