Motorsport Diary: Kiwis racing overseas this weekend

Strap yourselves in for one of the busiest weekends on the motorsport calendar of the year.

Shane van Gisbergen will be in action in the Xfinity Series at IMS, looking to bounce back from a difficult result at Pocono, where he was taken out while in the top 10.

IndyCar is back in action with a street course outing in Toronto, with Scott Dixon, Scott McLaughlin and Marcus Armstrong joined in the field by debutant Hunter McElrea.

New Zealand Grand Prix winner Liam Sceats is also in action in Toronto with a USF Pro 2000 double-header.

Closer to home, the five-strong Kiwi Supercars contingent faces two 51-lap races in the Sydney SuperNight. Marco Giltrap and Fabian Coulthard will compete in the Porsche Carrera Cup at the same venue.

With Giltrap absent from Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Chris van der Drift will take the wheel of the Lamborghini Auckland Huracan as a solo competitor at Inje Speedium.

To top things off, we have a fierce Formula E showdown which sees Nick Cassidy and Mitch Evans first and second in the standings ahead of the London E-Prix double-header, where they won a race each in 2023.

It’s time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the action.
